About AiPicDetect

AiPicDetect es una herramienta gratuita y de código abierto que puntúa imágenes generadas por IA y elimina los metadatos ocultos — alojada o autoalojada, tú eliges. It is built and maintained by Michael Orlov and published under the MIT licence at github.com/Micorlov/aipicdetect. The hosted instance at https://aipicdetect.com is a free demo of the same code.

What it does

• Scores how likely a picture was produced by an AI generator, with a confidence band, using an open image classifier that runs locally in the server process.
• Lists the EXIF, XMP, IPTC, C2PA and ICC metadata blocks a file carries.
• Produces a metadata-free copy by re-rendering the pixels, via the web page, the aipicdetect command line or the HTTP API.

Model credits

The default detector is haywoodsloan/ai-image-detector-deploy, an image-classification model published on Hugging Face by its author under that model card's licence. AiPicDetect downloads it on first run and performs no training of its own. Any Hugging Face image-classification model with AI/real labels can be substituted with AIPICDETECT_DETECTOR_MODEL.

Built with

Python 3.12, FastAPI, Pillow and pillow-heif for decoding, PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers for inference, uvicorn for serving. The web page is plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with no framework; the only third-party script is the optional Google Analytics tag on the hosted instance (see privacy), which self-hosted copies do not load.
